THE GOD MACHINE GN is OUT! + News, Podcasts, more!
Hey everybody!
Long time no real post, huh?
But let's get down to business, shall we?
So, i'm pleased to announce, after years of waiting, the one, the only, THE GOD MACHINE hardcover #1 is finally OUT!!!
YAY!!!
Technically it came out on some random date in November...er...twice, and an early release at NYCC... But never the mind on when it came out, it's out now!
You can get it on Amazon, major book chains, and best of all- your local comic shops! (if the local comic shop, or major book chain doesn't have it, ask them to order it!)
The quick run down (despite what it says on most sites, which have incorrect info):
For you guys to enjoy!
And please, pretty please... let me know what you think.
Also, let others know what you think too! Post reviews in your blogs, websites, on amazon, facebook, mini tweet reviews... and tell me where they are so i can link you on my website. :)
Also! Big thank you to everybody who has wrote me the past couple of months here- i've been reading everything you've wrote. Sorry i haven't written back to a good chunk of you. -life has been... different.
Check them out! Lots of neat goodies and insights! I talk with Sidebar, Comic Geek Speak, Venture Bros. Blog, SciFi Block, and Cammy's Comic Corner makes THE GOD MACHINE, book of the month!
As for reviews: Newsarama, Comic Waiting Room, and Graphic Policy weigh in what they think about THE GOD MACHINE.
A new year approaches and it's time to get super serious! I'm teaming up with my ultra talented boyfriend, writer/creator of Critical Millennium, Drew Gaska, for the GOD MILLENIUM signing tour! Hopefully more chances for me to meet more of you in places i've never been before. :)
So far this is what's confirmed:
MegaCon: March 25th - 27th, 2011. Artist Alley.
Super Show: April 30th & May 1st, 2011. Artist Alley.
Possible and more than likely other conventions:
Icon
Chiller
Wizard World Philly
San Diego Comic-Con
Baltimore Comic-con
Dragon*con
New York Comic-con
BIG announcement!- I'm now a Creative Director at BLAM! Ventures. I'm looking forward to bringing my artistic creativeness to the group... ;D More on this later.
So, what's been up with me, besides a book release? A lot, actually. Me and my husband, Jim, are parting ways in life. We grew apart over the past couple of years, and it was time to move on. I still love him very much, but it's time to go our separate ways. I will always cherish the time we had, and the experiences. We part as friends, not rivals.
Thank you Jim, for everything.
I have also moved from Orlando, Florida to New York with my boyfriend Drew and my cat Adrien. I'm very happy to have moved after nearly 29 years in Orlando.
My 29th birthday is approaching this "Chanmas" (Christmas, to you non-Chan believers... ;D) It's my first one with out any family. A little sad, but i'm happy to have a change of pace.
As for other comic projects-
I've started to work on THE GOD MACHINE vol. 2, finished drawing up a few pages for Archaia's Fraggle Rock book (Vol.2 issue #2), and working on various other comic projects.
And so far, that's it.
A new path, a new life, a new love... and still comics.
Love ya guys!
Happy Holidays~

Dragon*con 2010!! Sept 3-6th!
It's that time again!
Time to head back to the mother of all conventions, Dragon*Con!! [Sept 3-6, Atlanta, GA.]
I will be a guest at said lovely event. I will be selling my wares in the Comics & Pop Art Alley.
I will have my usual prints [including the large over sized 11x17 prints], copies of the 1st issue of The God Machine, original drawings, the RETURN of the CRAZY CRAYON COMMISSIONS, free stickers and other assorted goodies. I will be taking commissions as well! -I also plan on having an exclusive Dragon*con print for the event as well! Hopefully other surprises if time permits!
Sadly, I wanted to have Dragon*con to be the debut of THE GOD MACHINE's Graphic Novel- but it wasn't possible. :( [Archaia is still in process of getting it out to the printers.]
NOW DON'T FORGET: I will be on 2 panels!!! [please come if you can! I need all the support I can get!]
So that's it for now. If any new information pops up I will add it to this entry. [Like where the pop art & Comics alley is and my table #]
Hope to see everybody there!!

THE GOD MACHINE HC FOR PREORDER~!
So much to say!
But first- hi guys! I've been recovering from the madness that was SDCC! Thanks to all who came out and said hello, and for all of you who got a chance to get the new posters Archaia printed and a copy of The God Machine issue 1.
A few highlights you can see and hear!
INTERVIEW: I talk about The God Machine graphic novel, Fraggles, and Fear of Ghosts [comic] with Cameron Hatheway of Cammy's Comic Corner. [Also in the beginning of the interview David Rodriguez & Patrick McEvoy talk about their book Starkweather] [*show note- I meant to say "JOSH" Finney and Kat Rocha]
also
Venture Brothers Tweetup Podcast: I was apart of this geekery- and how!
BUT! Now on to more pressing maters!
THE GOD MACHINE GRAPHIC NOVEL VOL. 1 !!!!!
It's serious time! Seriously!
Break out the Absinthe, dress in your spooky attire, for on Oct. 18-27th- It arrives! [Just in time for HALLOWEEN!]
But first you have to contact your local comic shop[s] (locate your local shop here) to order you a copy, or even order it from AMAZON.com!
This is the time to act! Go to you comic shop, ask them to order you THE GOD MACHINE HC [Previews page 225] The more orders, the better! It let's Diamond [distributor] know there's a need for the book, so they'll let it come back for a 2nd GN! It also let's Archaia know there's a demand! This is important! It shows that there's a want for THE GOD MACHINE volumes in the future!
Don't have a shop to go to? No problem! Amazon is providing you guys with a very good deal! $13.46 for 160pages of God Machine goodness! [don't mind the listing saying it's 144pages, it's in process of being corrected]
Other places to order from [if you want other options]:
Forbidden Planet £10.34 [huzzah, across the ponders rejoice!]
Things From Another World $15.96
Heavy Ink $15.96
The specs:
The God Machine; Graphic Novel, Vol. 1
~160 pages*. Full Color. Hardbound Published by Archaia list price: 24.95*
*All of the online places have the specs on my book wrong. But trust me when I say, I know it's 160 pages. I made it that way. (It's like telling a mother who just gave birth that she didn't have a baby.) Because it was advertised as 144 pages, that's what made the price lower originally. On the behalf of others, I'm sorry for any confusion.
So now we've got business out of the way, how bout was under that sexy hard cover?
A foreword by Doc Hammer (co-creator of The Venture Brothers), a new colored prologue that was only available as a limited run b&w ash-can, the lush beginning of The God Machine saga, Character bios, 13 pin-ups by fellow Archaia artists and other uberly talented artists!
What's it about?
There's so much more news i have to tell, but this will have to do til next time! And boy will there be a next time!
ALSO: Any requests for stuff for me to provide at Dragon*con? Let me know! I'm hoping to have lots of goodies for all who attend!
Go forth, and order my lovelies! I promise it's worth it. <3
With so much love,
Chan

“Things have become monotonous. Change will come and wash it all away…”
“Stricken with grief from the death of his girlfriend, Sith, Guy Salvatore struggles to make sense of his world. He’s plagued with hallucinations of monsters that torment him with outrageous requests. He’s unsure if these manifestations are real or are being invented by his own sickened mind.
Enter Satan: a strange old man who shares with Guy a story of two Gods who govern all of existence. According to Satan, the Gods allowed Sith to be removed from her world. Now she is floating aimlessly in and out of dimensional planes known as the “Dream Worlds.” Satan implores Guy to take action and call upon his latent power to break through his world’s plane, search out Sith, and take vengeance upon the vile Gods who caused this atrocity.
Satan’s story promises hope to Guy and raises the possibility of Sith still being alive. Yet, Guy’s doubts linger: Is Satan to be believed? Who are the Gods and why did they allow Sith to be taken? Who is to be trusted? And, ultimately, is Guy slowly going insane?
So, what’s a “Guy” to do?
Join Guy as he begins to unravel the truth, and learn what really happened to Sith – before it’s too late…”

SDCC!
Turns out, I WILL be at SDCC this year. [Archaia Booth #2635]
If you're going to be there, let me know what you'd like to see me bring to the con.
I'll have THE GOD MACHINE 1st issue, prints, stickers, commissions, less then 10 ash cans left, etc- but let me know if there's a special print you want, or something to that effect!
Hope to see you there!
ALSO! Thanks to all who voted for my book and I for the Eagle Awards. Sadly my book and I didn't make it to nominations. Thems' the breaks, as they say. But thanks to all who helped!
Well i'm coming close to finishing up the first graphic novel of THE GOD MACHINE! Wish me luck you guys!
Take care!

Wondercon Wrap up & Eagle Award Nominations
So this is a little delayed due to trying to get settled back in, and other not so fun things!
But thanks to all who came out and said "hi" at Wondercon! It was a wonderful experience, and i hope to return in the future. Also thanks to all my Archaia friends; creators, the big guys, and our lovable interns! You guys made it totally amazing! <3
The Archaia panel went rather well, lots of cool Archaia news took place, and I got to talk about the God Machine, and take some questions! I have no video of the event, but a little write up over at CBR exists! Certainly check that out for some great news on upcoming Archaia titles! Lots to look for in 2010!
While I was at Wondercon, I had the chance to do 2 video interviews! [and don't worry, i'm a complete dork in both of them!]
1st one: Cammy's Comic Corner [be sure to stay around for Patrick McEvoy's part of the interview too! You may find what he has to say.. interesting! ;)]
[direct link to youtube page: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqzI_gB_xX0 ]
2nd one: Comic Vine with Bat Girl Babs (aka Sara!!)
[direct link: Comic Vine]
Thanks to both Cammy and Sara!!! And do make sure you visit Cammy's Comic Corner and Comic Vine!
In the coming weeks I'll be posting more THE GOD MACHINE sneak peaks to Comic Vine, so look out for updates over at my profile there.
---------------------------------
In other news, the Eagle Awards are now accepting nominations for your favorite comic, artist, writer, etc. for the 2009 year. If you liked the first issue of THE GOD MACHINE, thought I was somebody to mention as an artist/writer/newcomer etc, please nominate me, Chandra Free, The God Machine Preview Book, and my publisher Archaia for an Eagle Award. And also, there were many great titles from Archaia this 2009 year, so please nominate those whom you loved as well! [pst! Titanium Rain, Tumor, AWAKENING GN! SOME NEW KIND OF SLAUGHTER etc] I'd really appreciate this, as it will give THE GOD MACHINE more eyes to it if it makes a nomination, or even wins! Tell your friends, blog it, tweet it, get the word out! Please! Any bit can help. :) [*note you don't have to vote in every category to vote!] Go forth and nominate ASAP!
Another Ninja Mountain Podcast will have me on it soon. I post that later when it goes online. Along with other things! Phew, so much to do, so little time!
Questions? Comments? Be sure to drop me a line at witchycrankypoo@gmail.com or even under this post!
